Rev. Austin Miles (writer for the Christian Post) seems to love to hold his persecution complex tight, while firing off volleys towards what he refers to as the communist, socialist, Marxist, atheists who respond to his writing. He doesn’t seem to like ‘wimpy Christians’ much either.
I guess he doesn’t like opposition to his writing. You’d think that as a writer, he would be happy people are reading his work and responding, but I guess not. It’s far easier to cry about challenges than to actually respond to them.
Here’s a bit of what he had to say about atheists:
It is clearly observed that the responses from the atheists are mostly unintelligibie with glaring errors in grammar, punctuation, capitalization of names, and especially spelling, confusing 'there' with 'their,' 'to' and too.' 'your and you're.' In short the education level of these responders is obviously extremely low.
However, they are always out there, in the national media, with responses and letters to the editor to push their point and agenda, which is to rid America of Christianity and the church to pave the way for a Communist society.
Communists give 33% of their income to The Party to further the goals of Socialism. Meanwhile, Christians are reluctant to give 10 % of their earnings to further the work of the church. The Communists show that they are more dedicated to their cause than the Christians are to theirs. This is scandalous.
The Marxists are basically ignorant, brainwashed "Useful Idiots" (as Stalin described them), and actually believe Communism is the ideal society even though it has been proved a failure throughout the world where it was instituted. However, they have been well-schooled when it comes to using words, even misspelled ones.
It’s a tad ironic that he says these atheists are mostly unintelligible with glaring errors in spelling, while misspelling ‘unintelligible’ in the first line quoted.
Anyhow, I’m an atheist but nothing I do is to pave the way for a communist society. It’s not to rid the world of Christianity. I definitely do not give 33% of my income to ‘The Party’ either. In fact, I know quite a few atheists and none of them are communists.
There are atheists who question Christian faith because the topic interests them. There are those who stand up for the separation of Church and State. There are those who are tired of having religion shoved in their faces, those who have been shunned by their faith community and some who don't give a flying crap about religion one way or the other. Atheists are a varied group who rarely agree on much of anything, especially how they should conduct themselves when engaged in a debate about faith. If the Rev. had spent any time whatsoever on an atheist site, he would realize this. They aren't communist boogeymen - they're people.
And Christians are people also. It's no big surprise that sometimes, Christians and atheists will agree on something.
It seems the good Reverend is just throwing around word bombs and hoping something sticks. If you read his articles, you will find that he offers no proof whatsoever for his claims, except the messages he supposedly receives in response to his articles. He just points fingers without evidence, disrespecting his readers, atheists and Christians alike.
Here’s what he had to say about wimpy Christians:
Even though I did answer all their questions they continued to push, like a pit bull who continues to attack even when he is injured or shot. That is exactly what these atheists are like. They wear you down by waterboarding with words.
This is what they do in the public square against wimpy Christians, which embolden them to put insulting references to Jesus, Christmas and God on billboards, buses, subways and next to Sacred Nativity Displays, knowing there will be no retaliation.
Christians do not go into the atheist territories to insult them, attack them or bully them. We let them live their lives, but they will not let us live ours. Why? Because we have never employed a counter offensive, like massive letters to the editors..
The most disturbing of all is the Christians who seemingly side with the atheists in these attacks against another Christian. Indeed this happened on the above story responses where a gleeful atheist informed us all that I must be a really bad person for even the Christians to be against me. You will see it in the reader responses. Fortunately there are more true Christians than these counterfeit ones.
At the end of the piece, he goes on to say that the ‘Atheists are winning’ because ‘Christians choose to be the pawns, not the King’.
Well, considering around 80% of the population says they’re Christian, I’m not sure how atheists are winning. I suppose the upward trend of atheism could be construed as ‘winning’.
However, it seems not even Christians are immune to this man’s accusations. Any Christian who disagrees with his position is labeled a wimpy Christian on the side of the unbelievers. If a Christian happens to agree with an atheist, then they are wimpy Christians who embolden those big bad atheists to put up dreaded billboards, which Christians have used for hundreds of years. How dare those filthy atheists do exactly what Christian organizations have done for so long? How dare they question the Christian Dogma? Don’t they realize that Christianity is privileged and immune to any sort of questioning or rebuttal?
No, Rev. Austin Miles, if you choose to post your views on the Internet, you will probably be challenged. It’s a free country.
Get used to it.
