Yes, I’m still alive. My computer still lives. I’ve just been so damned busy finding an apartment, moving, getting things in order, working and all the other mess that comes with bachelor-hood that I haven’t had time to hang on the Vine.
Not sure if you care but there it is.
I’ve also been dating. Egad! The dreaded dating!
At first, it was novel and all but I did manage to find one lady who is pretty awesome. The funny thing about the whole story (get your minds out of the gutter) is that she’s one of the most superstitious people I have ever met but somehow, that’s pretty cool.
Hey…I still live but I didn’t say I was still sane or even that I had ever been sane to begin with.
Anyhow, this lady is extremely kind and I like her. She’s also a Christian, reads horoscopes and believes them, talks about negative energy, positive energy, believes in Chakras and shamanic healing and holistic health, to name a few. She’s also witty and funny and is currently taking accounting in the medical field. She’s smart as hell and is getting an overall mark of 96% in her class (top in her class too by the way) and recently got an internship in a natural healing center…which is really short form for magical healing in my opinion, although I’m always down for a good massage.
For example, she was reading to me from the website that she’ll be interning in and they were talking about waving their hands over people and chanting (magic spell anyone?) to manipulate the energy in their bodies to help them rejuvenate themselves.
Yeah…I kid you not.
I asked if the doctor’s name was Harry Potter. She immediately corrected me and said it was Hermione since it was a female ‘doctor’.
You’d think we’d clash like crazy but we often sit and laugh about her superstitious nature and what she calls my ‘logic’. She said when she was reading the doctors site originally, she kept thinking about how I’d laugh my fucking ass off.
She goes to church. I even offered to maybe go with her sometime. I guess I’m not always a jerk. She asked whether I’d turn to ash on the steps. I said I didn’t know but it was a good possibility. Hopefully, if I do turn to a pile of ash, she’ll snap a picture and share it with you folks. Don’t feel bad if you cheer. I won’t blame you.
So, that’s how things are going for me right now. I’m pretty much set up in my new place. I still get frustrated when I can’t find something but I’ve always been a scatter brain so you’d think I’d be bloody used to it by now.
It’s been a really shitty year for me but things are starting to look up.
